Hi folks,

Since february, the perl review is published, and we provide the perl
community with a golf contest each month.
The LA.pm set up a monthly golf challenge.
If we add other golf tournaments set up by people from time to time (such as
Eugene who will propose his dutch open on 15th april), then that's a lot of
golf.

One could think this is cool, but:
1. too much golf will kill the golf. If you always play perl golf, again and
again, then chances are that you'll be bored sooner or later.
2. the number of hole ideas that could be golfed is finite: I don't say
there's a little number of ideas, but that this number is finite.

That's why I propose to "group" the challenges, as much as possible (I say as
much as possible, since I don't see how to group the LA.pm contests).
So, maybe we (Dave and I) should open the perlgolf column to the people who
want to set up a golf tournament, and provide them with the pgas interface
and tools we have built so far.

This way:
1. we centralize all the golf tournaments in one place: every challenge could
be reached at http://perlgolf.sourceforge.net
2. although there's always quite a lot of golf contests (one each month),
there's not _too much_ golf, so we can rest.
3. there would be more fresh ideas of golf contests.
4. one could be referee one month and player the next month
5. we could set up some big opens in the year, such as the "us open" in july
(or whatever), or the "australian open" (guess who am I thinking to? ;) ), ...
6. if nobody wants to run a contest on a given month, then we (Dave and I)
would provide one.

But maybe everyone will want to set up such a golf contest... So, how should
we decide who will set up the golf challenge for the next month?
There may be other issues...

I'm speaking for me, and not for Dave, and it's not currently applied, but
what do you think of this idea? Any comments welcome.
