Hi Alessio, I don't see how the anonymity level of FS can possibly be abstracted/used in other services. The anonymity level tries to capture the available cover traffic, and only traffic that is basically "indistinguishable" in terms of the origin should count. As (for example) CADET messages identify the origin, they cannot reasonably use that notion.
We do want to eventually build an onion-routing/anonymization layer with CADET-like semantics, but that work has not yet started in earnest -- and I think we really ought to get out the bugs in the existing code before starting bigger new developments. my 2 cents Christian On 10/17/20 6:30 PM, Alessio Vanni wrote: > Hello, > > I have a simple question: can the whole "anonimity level" mechanism used > by FS be "abstracted" so that other unrelated applications can use it, > or is it deeply connected with FS's architecture? > > I can think of a few applications that might want to use it instead of > using e.g. CADET as-is, so it would be nice to have a library/service > implementing it. > > However, FS is a black box to me, so I'm not able to tell if the > mechanism can actually be extracted or not. > > Thanks, > A.V. >
