You can persistently hide any sheets in the worbook.
Right click on any sheet tab, select "Manage sheets...", toggle "Viz"
field for sheet to change it's visibility.
I tried this, but the change didn't persist. This was Bug 621463 --
fixed in version 1.10.6. However, laziness leaves me with the 1.10.1
package that came with Ubuntu 10,04 LTS.
Since I value gnumeric, I really need to get into the habit of building
current releases.
