My apologies to you -- and Liz.  No insult was intended with the "Aussies" comment.  And I guess I don't get out of the U.S. enough to realize that we're the oddballs here with our "checks".  And BTW, to all who took time to comment on this topic, it was really interesting to hear all your perspectives on how different folks deal with the date discrepancies.  Thanks to all who chimed in.

And again, my apologies if that comment was inappropriate.
