Mike, you haven't mentioned whether both computers are on a LAN and whether you can do transfers via the LAN. If on a LAN programs like Warpinator (called Winpinator for the Windows version) can be used to do the transfer at the cost of setting them up.
Otherwise a windows formatted USB thumb drive is the best option. You will need to transfer your data file(s). These are files in the formatĀ <filename>.gnucash -- data file <filename.gnucash.<timestamp>.log -- log files <filename.gnucash.<timestamp>.gnucash -- backup files where <filename> is the name you gave the file and <timestamp> is a 10 digit string in the format yyyymmddhhmmss. Copy these to a location in your user directory. It is good practice to put these files all in their own directory/folder with a separate folder for each set of books. Start Gnucash and use File->Open from the menu and navigate to the location to open the file. See https://www.gnucash.org/docs/v5/C/gnucash-guide/basics-migrate-settings.html for detail. The info for report locations here will be for recent GnuCash versions. If you are on an older version see below. You may also want to migrate the user configuration data, particularly if you have stored reports or customised reports. Where these are located is GnuCash version dependent See https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Configuration_Locations for details. There are diagrammatic forms of the information which may be easier to follow about halfway down the page.
