Subject: [GNC] F::Q CLI issue with GNC 5.6-1 on Win 11
Message-ID: <fd27c76f-b79f-43cc-8d52-10cf9bb0c...@kcburns.com>

When using GNC 5.4 on Windows 11, F::Q 1.59 & 1.60 work perfectly
(except for the quote source issues resolved with 1.6).

When upgrade to GNC 5.6-1 neither F::Q 1.59 nor 1.6 CLI works, error
message indicates unable to find data file.

Note that using the Get Quotes button in the Price Database window does
work perfectly with GNC 5.6-1.

My CLI command, run as administrator, is:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\gnucash\bin\gnucash-cli.exe" --verbose --quotes
get file://C:/Users/KCBurns/AppData/Local/GnuCash/KCBurns.gnucash

I am USA-based using unknown\yahoojson as the quote source for six
securities on NASDAQ and NYSE; though I have tried other quote sources
with no success.

Re-installing GNC 5.4 gives me a functioning F::Q CLI.

I received no replies to this submission, but am still struggling with the issue.

I will appreciate anybody providing a copy of the command they successfully use with GnuCash 5.6 on any version of Windows.

I have since updated to F::Q 1.62, and am now using MarketWatch as my source.

When I run the command (run as administrator) with GnuCash 5.6, I get:

C:\Windows\system32>"C:\Program Files (x86)\gnucash\bin\gnucash-cli.exe" --verbose --quotes get file://C:/Users/KCBurns/AppData/Local/GnuCash/KCBurns.gnucash
Found Finance::Quote version 1.62.
Price retrieval failed: Failed to parse result returned by Finance::Quote.
Error message:
<unspecified file>(1): expected value
Result:

C:\Windows\system32>PAUSE
Press any key to continue . . .

When I run the same command with GnuCash 5.4 I get my quotes successfully updated.

Thanks for any help,
Ken
