I would also add that the ability to download from your bank is VERY dependent on the bank's support of non-Quicken downloads. My banks, for example, no longer allow OFX (I'm in the US) downloads unless it's Quicken.
The good news is you can test all of this out in parallel before you make your decision. I left Quicken 9 years ago and have been much happier in GNUCash, but your needs may differ.
