Barry, If you do not have a family member or friend that knows a lot about permission issuess in Windows, go to your local library and ask them to find someone to help you.
Ununstalling Gnucash amd startimg over will not help. You will evrntually end up in the same pile of manure. Never ever "run as administrator" unless you know exactly why you need to. That is my answer.
