Jack, You are not the first user that believes the Scheduled Transaction workflow could be improved. Over the years there have been suggestions for minor improvements to reduce the average number of keystrokes to implement each transaction to radical changes to the entire process.
The existing process works. If it ain't broke.... There has been no significant change in the last decade, so we are waiting for a volunteer to step up with a good idea and the time to devote to the project. If you have some time...
