Considering that was included by Apple as the system font for some time, I 
highly doubt there are any kerning issues with it. (They are typography nerds 
and would cringe at such an issue.) That may be a rabbit hole to far to travel 
to figure out the cause.

John’s suggestion of putting a space after your preferred currency symbol is 
likely the easiest solution.
