You are right. while we have some options stored in dconf and some others in the book many report options are volatile. The only way to save them is keeping the report open while closing the file or gnucash. Then they will be saved in ~/.gnucash/books/<yourfilename>.gcm in the SchemeOptions key of the respective [Page <nr>] section.
