Thanks for all this info Martin, and for the cool way we can test the import with aqbanking-cli I made a bit of progress since my post. I was able to get aqbanking setup to work on windows by downgrading gnucash to 3.5 (3.6 and 3.7 crashed during the aqbanking setup, if I'm remember well). I'm able to download transactions from my bank, but for now, I'm only getting 1 transaction, no matter the start date I request so I have a bit of debugging to do. I will use aqbanking-cli to investigate and will report here... I believe none of my banks use OFX2, so I don't think I can help you with that part of the testing...
