I'll just point out that SourceForge has had multiple-day outages in its
history.  So even data-center hosted sites can have serious downtime.
Yes, they are less likely to have serious downtime than I am, but they
are not immune.

Also, with GIT the only issue would be that you cannot push/pull.  It
wouldn't stop you from a commit.  :)
