It seems that a few years ago, Phil ran SPLint [1] on the code base and added a 
bunch of annotations to suppress bogus errors. (They're the /*@ foo @*/ 
comments. Later, Christian started running astyle, which put all of those 
comments on a separate line from the code they annotated.

I think, from reading the manual, that having the annotations on a separate 
line breaks them. Does anyone know for sure?

Is anyone still running SPLint? Have an opinion about static analysis in 
general?
