Good. 

Is everyone comfortable with [1] the bugs filed since the release of 2.3.16 and 
[2] the 24 bugs reporting crashes? 
(I'm not wild about releasing with known crashers, but I'm willing to be 
overruled.)

Is the documentation ready? What about translations? We can do another RC 
without them, but they're needed for the actual release. 

If we're happy about the bug situation, we could even make the 2.4 branch so 
that people who've been holding back changes can commit to trunk again.
