No, not at all. At least two things would be interesting for me: (1) If you still use Linux, does it crash on Linux and GnuCash 2.2.x as well? (2) May you try to provide us with a backtrace, as described on http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Windows#Debugging_with_gdb ? You may also want to make gnucash-bin.exe a console application (http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Windows#Console_output_and_exetype) and start it from gnucash.bat with --debug append (after %*).
