If anybody wants to work on this fulltime I would try to organize to collect some money from those users who wish to have that feature as I already suggested in the german list (with a little fee for myself). If this can be accomplished within the standard development cycles the users sure would love to get it for free. Anyway, such features sure needs agreement of the core developers, no matter who and how this is coded.
