As a general comment: For what it's worth, I don't think we should ignore cmake simply because it's new/different/not as widely used yet/etc. I agree that it is all these things, but that's how major innovations start. And Cmake must have something going for it because building KDE on linux, windows, and mac is no trivial task!
I wonder if cmake would make building on a mac easier...I don't know.
