GnuCash 1.8.11
BUGS (mostly related to International Support): 1. If you create a "Cash on Hand" account in the Assets column, and then create three sub-accounts with different currencies, the Total of "Cash on Hand" is equal to the sub-account with the same Commodity, if any. The correct value should be equal to the sum of the sub-accounts, converted to the "Cash on Hand" selected Commodity at current exchange rate; EXAMPLE: EUR 5700.00 GBP 40.00 USD 28.00 TOTAL = 5700.00 EUR (error) The above error occurs with any similar construction in any account (Assets, Liabilities, etc.). 2. It is not possible to list "Real Estate" assets in the Assets column. GnuCash should be extended to include a "Real Estate" Account Type, which entries include relevant information, such as "type" (example, 3Bedrooms/2Bathrooms), "down payment" and "cost". 3. Suppose you have the following fictitious financial statement: Income = EUR 0.00 Expenses = EUR 0.00 Assets = EUR 8616.10 Bank Accounts = EUR 2916.10 (wrong) account1 = EUR 500 account2 = GBP 275.38 account3 = EUR 2416.10 Cash on Hand = EUR 5700.00 (wrong) account4 = EUR 5700 account5 = GBP 40 account6 = USD 28 Liabilities = EUR 0.00 The toolbar above the accounts says: Net Assets grand total (EUR): EUR 6200.00 Profits (EUR): EUR 0.00 There is no need to remark they are "EUR". Both the Net Assets total and grand total are wrong. If you click on the arrow, you get the following: Net Assets (EUR): EUR 6200.00 .......... (correct) Net Assets (GBP): GBP 315.38 ........... (correct) Net Assets ($): $ 28.00 ............... (correct; should display "USD") Net Assets total (EUR): EUR 6200.00 .... (wrong) Net Assets grand total (EUR): EUR 6200 (wrong) The correct value should be equal to the sum of the Asset accounts, converted to the selected Commodity (EUR) at current exchange rate. I recommend removing this toolbar information in the first place; a well-written Report is more useful. 4. The above error 3 occurs in any Report. WISHLIST 1. Auto-save, as option.
