The versions of the sources that I checked out today no longer work. Where
should I start to look for the "Bad define placement" problem? It seems as
though a likely place would be in the ./share/scm/ directory. Are there
any helpful hints/references for debugging Scheme code? Or is this an
installation problem with scheme (umb-scheme-3.2-9 rpm) or something else
entirely?

Anyway, here is how the problem rears its ugly head.

make distclean
cvs -z 3 update
./configure
make gnome
./gnucash
