Quicken5 had the same problem, anything in 2000 got a wierd date entry like 1/1/'0. So I had all these entries in 2000 that were mucked up... the only solution was upgrading to Quicken98 I had laying around. At least Quicken98 understands the year 2000! :) The QIF exports from Quicken98 work fine. I had a problem with the Credit Card export from Quicken98 - I had to change the export settings to just the register and that solved the problem with the credit card account.
