I just did a checkout, ./configure, make, make install, and they all
worked, to some degree. I was able to run the resulting binary the
same way I have before. ./gnucash ~/data/secondtry.xzc There were
some things I was supposed to test, but I can't remember what they
were. If anyone remembers, let me know.

cool!

when I did the "make install", it seemed to do ./configure again, did
it?

I got the following error at the end of the make install:

make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/rob/src/cvs/gnucash/po'
[ -d /home/rob/compiled//share/gnome/apps/Applications ] && \
  /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 gnucash.desktop
/home/rob/compiled//share/gnome/apps/Applications
make: [install] Error 1 (ignored)

and what I find odd is that /home/rob/compiled/share/gnome does not
exist. I did not make /home/rob/compiled/[bin, doc, html, lib,
share], so I was under the impression that the apps made their own
directories there as they did the installs.
