It just uses /bin/mail to send the mail (though some changes in
the code lead me to believe they'll switch to running
/var/lib/sendmail directly). For people behind dialup
connections, it is possible to have
sendmail/exim/smail/qmail/whatever queue the mail until the next
time you dialup.
