Is it possible to use a patched intltool-extract on l10n.gnome.org until this is fixed upstream? I've been using the patched version on my machine for a few years now, and it seems to work fine. If it is on l10n.gnome.org, at least several people would be able to get the benefit from it. I usually prefer the files from l10n.gnome.org anyway, so I don't usually get the benefit of my patched copy of intltool-extract. I know it is extra hassle in terms of the deployment on the machine, but there is huge benefit, and seemingly no quick solution in sight for an upstream fix.
