OK, not easy, but it can't be all that hard, surely? :) I can see it'll need a lot of changes in a lot of places (such as making gettext be able to rebind to a new language), but... well, at the least we should probably figure out exactly what would be involved (get advice from the relevant module maintainers etc) and see if we can make it happen. Anyway, I can see translators falling asleep at their e-mail clients.
