"Migrate UK civil service to open-source software for data sovereignty & security
"I want the government to develop a plan to migrate all civil service IT systems from proprietary software to secure open-source alternatives. This should setting clear targets, budgets and training to ensure full data sovereignty, enhanced cybersecurity and support for UK innovation." https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/766230 Very sensible IMHO. France & the Netherlands seem to be doing this. I doubt that it will go far in the UK, civil servants have too much personally invested in the usual suspects. Do forward this to others who might sign it. -- Alain Williams Linux/GNU Consultant - Mail systems, Web sites, Networking, Programmer, IT Lecturer. +44 (0) 787 668 0256 https://www.phcomp.co.uk/ Parliament Hill Computers.
