Re: optimizer-focused projects, I think Andy is going for more research-y topics for 15-799 (see slide 26 [here](https://15799.courses.cs.cmu.edu/spring2025/slides/10-parallelization2.pdf)), so there may be fewer implementation-focused projects than his usual 15-721.
