@quwin Thank you for the detailed benchmark analysis! My main goal was to optimize single-target-partition SortMergeJoin plans where both inputs already share the same sort order on the join key. Previously, this case wasn’t handled because the sort options didn’t match the hardcoded ones. The intended use case is joining large numbers of rows from both inputs in a streaming fashion, without having to sort them first.
