@andygrove mind if I take this one? I'd follow the constraints in the description: a second reservation from the repartitioner's consumer via `new_empty()`, created before `LocalPartitionWriter` so the data file buffer can be charged, and a fall back to a small buffer when the grow for the spill file or copy buffer is refused. The zstd context would be charged the same way when zstd is configured. The single-partition writer's scratch would need a reservation of its own, so I'd leave it for a follow-up unless you'd rather see it here. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
