Thanks for the review. Current main now covers this through #24857: both maps calculate hash-table allocation directly in `size()`, with lazy construction and explicit preallocation. It also retains the view and buffer capacity accounting from #24257. This supersedes the insert-time accounting changes in this PR, so I am closing it.
