There were people who wanted to use Ubuntu to target different audiences so without changing what they were the found a way to cooperate and make Kubuntu and Edubuntu happen. This question does not make sense to me. I did not target the gimp, I did not even start this discussion. All I am really asking is for developers to consider the possibility of making it easier to rebrand custom versions of the gimp for different audiences.
