Dear colleagues,

Call for Contributions: Special Climate Law Issue on Climate Geoengineering

Climate Law <http://www.brill.com/products/journal/climate-law> , a journal
of Brill, plans to publish a special issue on climate geoengineering law in
early 2015. Wil Burns of Johns Hopkins University and Simon Nicholson of the
School of International Service at American University will serve as guest
editors for the issue.

Though this call is for an issue of a law journal, we are happy to consider
well-crafted contributions from non-legal perspectives, provided that clear
links are made to relevant notions of domestic or international law, and
that the typical conventions of writing for a law journal are followed.

The guidelines for articles are as follows:

. Length: 5000-7000 words. Consideration will be given to longer or
shorter pieces, but this needs to be cleared with one of the editors in
advance;

. We are seeking contributions that help advance this field in the
face of a proliferation of publications in the past few years. We are
particularly interested in pieces that discuss the relevance of institutions
not well-discussed in the literature to date, such as human rights regimes,
as well as contributions that drill down deeper into questions such as
potential liability regimes and the role of transboundary impact assessment,
and the potential role of national regulation of geoengineering research and
development;

.         Deadline for submission of drafts: December 15, 2014;

. Guidelines for preparation of manuscripts are available on the
journal <http://www.editorialmanager.com/clla/> 's site; submissions that
fail to conform to these guidelines, especially in terms of footnote
citation format, will be returned to contributors.

If you're interested in contributing to the issue, please submit an abstract
of 150-200 words to Wil Burns <mailto:[email protected]> or Simon
Nicholson <mailto:[email protected]>  by March 15, 2014. We hope
to have all pieces commissioned shortly thereafter. Please also don't
hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have about the issue.

Best,
