Hi Michael:

Small correction to your understanding; we have had PMC members before
that were mostly based on user list experience (and performed very
well at the PMC responsibilities). So do not worry so much - your
perspective would be valued (and is valued).

The perspective we are looking for are those who keep in mind the
library as a whole and can help direct it into the future. It is
helpful if one can step back from the needs of their own organization
(or project) in order to track the course of the GeoTools library. You
also do not have to be perfect; I occasionally vote +0 when I feel I
am too close to a particular proposal to be objective.
