Hi Olyster, WPSs get their data through a WFS request, you can add a filter in there. Although, for the use case you're describing, a straight query doing all the work inside the database would be fastest, but you'd have to write java code to call it.
As an alternative, you could set it up as a non advertised sql-view, with the intersecting polygon being a parameter.... the aggregation might not be returning a geometry but that's not a requirement, just use EPSG:404000 and enter a fake bbox for it.
