I just did this. My method:

Duplicate the partitions, file systems.

Then dd if=[old device] of=[new device] bs=32k for
each partition. Note: won't work if new device < old
device.

fschk each file system for corruption.

Remove or reformat other drive for storage etc.

Install grub on the partition of choice.

That's it!
