No, leave it where it is, that's the correct new location. It's where it is on my system, and my emerge works fine. Try these steps meanwhile if you haven't already: kill all defunct and old emerge processes, and try emerge again. With no emerge processes running, delete all _lockfiles in /var/tmp/portage and try again. Also try 'emerge portage' itself and see if that fixes it. alan -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
