Well, defend it, then :-). Why should I-- who has further had (very) bad experiences with the use of PAM, give it another try, when my system clearly runs without it, which suggests I have no need for it? What overwhelming benefit can I gain, that will offset my previous bad experience and make what I (because of the bad experience) must consider a risking my system worthwhile?
