Howdy,

I generally run unstable for KDE.  It works almost all the time.  This
is one of those times that it is not working right.  I'm trying to
figure out if it is just me or if this is a bug that affects anyone with
a similar setup.  I have three monitor outputs.  One for my primary
monitor, another for second monitor and a third which is my TVs, though
a splitter.  So, three actual outputs.  Two that I use the slideshow
on.  No slideshow on TV output.  It works fine in 6.4.3.  It makes my
CPU, one core at least, run at 100% when I upgrade to 6.5.2.  Same with
6.5.1 I think it was, whatever was before 5.2.  The other cores bump up
some but not sure what they doing exactly.  If I simply switch back to a
single image, the CPU returns to normal.  As soon as I select slideshow
and add a directory, a core goes back up again.

So far, if I just do one monitor, primary for example, it seems to
behave most of the time but sometimes triggers it still.  As soon as I
switch the second monitor to slideshow, it goes crazy again for sure.  I
was wondering if someone else on this list either has a similar setup or
has two or three monitor outputs that can test this on 6.5.2 and see if
it behaves the same or works OK.  I'd be fine if someone has read about
this somewhere and has more info, bug, a fix or whatever.  No joy here
with searches but might not be looking for the right thing.  Oh, I did
read that 6.5 has some changes to the desktop and wallpaper programs.
I'm thinking bug but not sure.

I did rename the file plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc with .old
on the end.  It worked until I switched to slideshow and added a
directory.  Then it went nuts again.  So, I don't think this is a
upgrade that has problems with the old file or failed to migrate some
changes that were needed.  I switched back because I have no idea how to
set up my old setup again.  I deleted the new file and took off the
.old.  Whew!!  Glad that worked.  :-D

Ideas?  Test results if someone can?

Thanks.

Dale
