It was. I commented out the line for sdf and then it worked. It complains about no -d option but it is there but maybe it isn't set correctly? #/dev/sdf -a -d sat -o on -S on -s (S/../.././12|L/../../6/12) -m root Maybe I need to add a -d removeable to the line to tell smartd that it may not always be there?? Something like this: #/dev/sdf -a -d sat -d removable -o on -S on -s (S/../.././12|L/../../6/12) -m root Think that would work? It's listed in the conf file as a option but not exactly sure whether it should be done that way or some other way. Actually, I need to set it for sdk since sdf is no longer there.
