Well anyway, I unchecked "Toronto" & was warned that >= 1 must be checked & that it had automatically checked "Local : your system time zone", after which the time showed was correct, ie now "5:26:38" (sb "05:26:38") ; it doesn't say "EST" anymore, but that doesn't matter much. The label 'UTC' under 'City' is very misleading. Thanks for helping me solve a long-standing problem.
