Oh that's good to know.  I've found that Gentoo comes with ZFS, and if I
can create a ZFS file system from some disks and boot from that without
further ado, that might be pretty cool.

I tried out the latest Gentoo live DVD ... and I was surprised that the
software it comes with is so old.  Libreoffice 3.x?  Seamonkey a couple
versions behind?

Is the software going to be more recent when I actually install?

ATM, I'm looking at LXC instead of VMs.  I'm planning to make some
changes again, and containers seem very appealing.
