I'm afraid you're right on this as that is also my experience. And not just in computing. I work in IT. Currently in support (enterprise-software, not home users) and moving into consulting soon. I don't like to see broken systems and always want to find solutions to problems I encounter. I agree, the vast majority of people on this list know how to solve issues for themselves or are able to formulate their problems/questions in such a way that others with more experience in that particular field can come up with the answer. However, I also think there are plenty of Gentoo-users who don't subscribe to this list and may easily get caught out when this situation really starts affecting them. -- Joost
