Is you kernel using the standard 'vesa' driver or the 'vesa-tng' driver. If it's the later, the 'vga=xxx' entry in grub is ignored. You have to use something like:
video=vesafb:mtrr,ywrap,[EMAIL PROTECTED] HTH, -Hani -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
