Things like this are why I only update when there is something I
**really** need... <smug smile>
Might be time to think SLOTs?
Or maybe a re-emerge of Xmms.

Something strange. Xmms used to work and now it doesn't. I get a
segmentation fault when I try to start it. I'm using
xmms-1.2.10-r13. I've

this
particular ebuild/xmms release or is something else going on?
Don't know what's "up" with that; it's the same version I'm using and
whenever I start to play a song my xfce4-panel segmentation faults
(this is due to the volume-control - when this is removed the panel no
longer crashes) with the following message:
-----------------------------------------------
** (xfce4-panel:17298): WARNING **: alsa_cb
Segmentation fault
-----------------------------------------------
This started when I upgraded the kernel from 2.6.11-r4 to r5 and
changing the profile from 2004.3 to 2005.0. Don't know if it's related
but it worked flawlessly before that change...
