When you already spend all day fixing other peoples' software, this doesn't sound that scary. The PMS says that KEYWORDS is whitespace-separated. Probably only repoman/pkgcheck would require trivial changes. Anything not enforcing ::gentoo policy should (ha ha) already support the PMS format.
