Honestly while I agree this could have been handled a little more
carefully we all win by having ONE place for firmware.  The firmware
package is like 20MB, if you don't have that much free harddrive space
then you can use the savedconfig option to tune for just your hardware
but honestly this package is rather critical for any system that does
wifi or video capture and a few other things. I don't want to have to
hunt and find firmware packages, the ones that are seperate due to
license issues (read: Broadcom) will stay seperate, the rest I'll be
poking upstream about including in the firmware tree then killing.

Having 300 -firmware packages is silly.
