IHi, As part of an optional experiment, we're inviting the PMCs to take part in a 6-month review.
The goal of this lightweight, self-reflective review is to provide podlings with an early opportunity to assess their progress, identify any challenges, and request additional support if needed, well before their first graduation discussion. Mentors are encouraged to support their podlings in preparing these short reviews and to participate in the discussion. Participation is voluntary, and there is no formal evaluation. It's an opportunity for the PMC to reflect and share insights with mentors and the broader community. At around the 6-month point, a podling would typically be expected to have: - Established open communication and community activity on the mailing lists - Made progress toward its first Apache release (or completed one) - Adopted Apache governance and decision-making practices - Begun attracting new contributors and building diversity - Identified any blockers or support needs for the next stage of incubation Of course, every podling's journey is different. Some may still be focusing on setup or IP clearance, while others may already be shipping releases. The intent is not to compare projects, but to encourage healthy reflection and mentoring discussion. Further details on the 6-month review process can be found here: https://github.com/apache/incubator/blob/master/tools/6MonthReview/README.md The auto-generated templates for reviews are available at: https://github.com/apache/incubator/tree/master/tools/6MonthReview/reports Kind regards, Justin
