Hi everyone,
Thanks to Willem for introducing the project and me to the ASF Incubator community. Here’s my addition to JB’s first question: BifroMQ has no direct relationship with existing Apache MQ projects that support MQTT communication. Although the “MQ” in its name might suggest it’s just another messaging queue, BifroMQ is fundamentally different. Given the unique role of the MQTT protocol in the IoT technology stack and the specific characteristics of MQTT workloads, BifroMQ is focused solely on providing an efficient and specialized implementation of MQTT. It does not aim to become a “multi-paradigm” message queue. Regarding community growth concerns from Chris: We believe joining Apache will help us reach a broader audience, and we’re fully open to adopting Apache’s communication methods and practices. We're also very glad to hear that the MQTT has been receiving growing attention in Germany and we hope BifroMQ will have the opportunity to be adopted.
