Thanks Roman as the champion for proposing this proposal. Now we can see Cloudberry has a small but active, fast-growing, and diverse contributors team and community. It can be an open-source offer to the original Greenplum users after the GP went closed-source. Since then, I talked with many kinds of size user teams from different industries and original GP partners and service providers, and they are at the edge of losing GP maintained. Now considering choosing Cloudberry as their open-source alternative to Greenplum but also would like to see Cloudberry join the third-party foundations (ASF preferred) to make sure it's independent, license unchanged, or runs for a long time, eg: [1].
Hope Cloudberry can join the ASF family, reunite the Greenplum community, and grow by following the Apache way.
