Might I suggest, that if the project has a wider-than-normal infrastructure requirement, that it accepts a member of the infra PMC as a mentor or PPMC member (whatever fits best) so as to have a liaison that knows what is possible to provide and what routes to take? We often have projects that cause infra headaches because they make decisions without knowing the full scope of work that is required to fulfill them, I think it would be better to nip these in the bud instead and not have too many headaches.
